If you do not take into account very archaic wooden logs, the brick is the most traditional building material for us, equally suitable for the construction of temples, residential buildings – private and multi-storey, as well as administrative buildings, commercial and industrial facilities. That is, almost everything can be built from bricks. And at the same time get a strong, durable, and what can I say – a beautiful building.
According to some parameters, brick structures /catalog/brick/ retain advantages over the main modern building technologies, the only significant drawback of brick (although it would probably be better to say a feature) is a longer time for erecting walls and demanding builders’ qualifications. But there are a lot of operational and construction advantages, and undeniable ones, in brick houses:
– brick walls have high load-bearing characteristics: the use of massive structures, such as heavy reinforced concrete floor slabs, is not a problem for a brick multi-storey building;
– environmentally friendly materials (sand, clay), which make up the brick, have good breathability for a comfortable microclimate in the house;
– mold, fungus, rotting and other similar troubles – this is not about brick!
– excellent compatibility with other (wood, ceramics, monolithic concrete structures) building materials;
– a brick house is something that can be inherited by several generations: the usual service life of 120-150 years for such a house (well-built, of course) is far from the limit;
– brick is suitable for the construction of complex architectural forms: pillars, arches, round or embossed walls, etc.d. – everything is possible from a brick;
– external decoration is not required – beautiful masonry is beautiful in itself and is written off in many architectural styles. The fashionable English style today, for example, is generally impossible to imagine without brickwork. Savings are obvious!
Given the painstaking process of bricklaying, in order to reduce the time of building a house, reputable companies have developed clear instructions for masons and strict regulations that contribute to fast and high-quality masonry, and some standard units, assembled and stood in optimal conditions, can, for example, be delivered directly to the construction site: construction progresses faster, and the possibility of error, respectively, decreases.
