Many people enjoy creating construction tools and fixtures themselves. Do-it-yourself vibrating plate is a great opportunity to save a lot of money, but also to realize your desire to create something with your own hands.
The main part that needs to be obtained is a vibrator, IV-98 may well fit. It is desirable that it can work from a 220 V network. It should be placed on a base for which you can take a piece of metal, which is a small area. The mass of the base should be 50-60 kg. You can try to find a piece of metal suitable for the base at the scrap metal collection point. The main criterion for selecting an element is the mass, as well as the availability of space for installing mounting bolts (for a vibrator). A 5 mm metal plate is attached to the back of the base – it will serve as a sole.
After the base is selected, mark up for fastening the bolts (with a diameter of 16 mm they are quite suitable for IV-98). Drill holes, cut threads into them, then screw in the studs. After performing the above work, install the mounting holes of the vibrator in the studs using a level, correct the location of the vibrator, fix it using the nuts. So that the vibrating plate can be moved, weld a handle to its base. First, weld two bolts to the base, then put the handle on them and fix it with nuts.
Silent blocks can be used as a material for handles. It will be better if the rubber bands touch the base on one side and the operator’s hand on the other. To position the handle at a convenient height, use the pipe and three silent blocks. Vibration-absorbing gloves should be used to reduce the impact of vibration on the hands.
Additionally, you can install a water tank – to do this, weld additional pipes to the base where the tank will be installed. Run a hose from the tank to the sole (front of it) – this way it will be possible to wet the surface of the sole before work. Care must be taken to ensure that liquid does not get on the vibrator in any case.
You can use a vibrating plate, assembled with your own hands, to compact the soil by 10 mm. The cost of its manufacture is minimal, up to 10,000 r. It is up to you to decide whether to create a unit or not, if you think that you have the necessary skills to create construction equipment, it remains to wish you success!
