Today, very often in the process of interior decoration, various materials are used that are attached to the ceiling. One of these materials is ceiling tiles. To fix the tiles on the ceiling, special adhesives are used, which are of two types – mineral and organic. In addition, many manufacturers produce ceiling tiles with a ball of adhesive already applied.
To achieve the most satisfying result during the installation of such tiles, you need to pay attention to the choice of glue. It is from this moment that not only the quality of installation work depends, but also the appearance and strength of the coating.
There are several types of adhesives: water-based adhesives, solvent-based adhesives, hot melts and compounds. Naturally, it is the type of glue that will determine the quality of the tile installation.
The most environmentally friendly adhesive is water-based. Due to the fact that water perfectly moistens the surface of materials, this kind of which can be used for gluing surfaces with a porous structure.
For example, adhesives for the manufacture of which natural polymers are used usually become an ideal breeding ground for various microorganisms. Given this fact, a special chemical additive is necessarily added to the adhesive composition, which in turn significantly prolongs the drying time of the mixture.
For example, a solvent-based adhesive is nothing more than a chemical composition that includes a liquid polymer. As a rule, such glue dries quickly enough, due to the rapid evaporation of the chemical.
As for the compound, due to their complex chemical composition, they harden at exactly the right time. In addition, such adhesives are able to bond even plastic and metal.
And finally, melts are thermoplastic polymers that have special additives. It should be noted that these additives are applied only in the molten state under high temperature conditions.
