Probably every girl dyed her hair at least once in her life: for herself or for a friend, sister, mother – it doesn’t matter, the main thing is that everyone has a similar experience. But when we have to dye our hair for the first time, we very often encounter many mistakes that leave unpleasant consequences behind. So, in this article we want to tell you about do-it-yourself hair coloring while avoiding the most common mistakes that you can make while doing this.
First, say what exactly you want to do with your hair: change its color or just shade it for a few days for some event or holiday, for example, for a carnival. If you need durable and long-lasting coloring, then choose a permanent paint, and if only hair shading is a regular tonic.
You should not dye weak hair with resistant paint containing acidic components – they can very negatively affect not only the subsequent appearance of your hair, but also spoil their structure even more: make them dull, brittle and dry.
If before this dyeing you have already dyed your hair with paint or henna, you should know that the interval between hair dyeing should be at least two months. And in the case of henna, it’s better to wait at all for three months.
Vered directly by the process of dyeing the hair, apply a protective cream on the face along the hairline, do not wet the hair, but leave it dry and divide it into several thin strands.
Be sure to wear gloves – the paint will very quickly ruin the skin of your hands and, believe me, the effect left by it will not be the most pleasant for you. Usually gloves come with hair dye, but if they are not, then you can use regular rubber gloves.
Start dyeing your hair from the forehead line, gradually moving to the very bottom. Apply the paint with a brush or soft sponge, thoroughly coat each strand of hair so that it is better absorbed. If you have a little paint left, then it is better to paint the tips with a second layer, but in no case the roots.
After that, leave the dye on your hair for about 25-30 minutes, you can do it longer if you want it to be better absorbed and the color turned out to be saturated, but do not overdo it. It is best to cover your head with cellophane for this time so that the paint does not stain anything – after all, you will not sit still all the time.
Then wash off the paint and that’s it – enjoy a new, bright shade of your hair!
Good luck readers!
