At the international exhibition Mobile World Congress, the Korean manufacturer Samsung introduced the fifth generation of the flagship smartphone Galaxy, which is essentially the successor to the Galaxy S4 2013 model year. The main advantages of the novelty against the background of a very successful predecessor are the presence of a heart rate sensor, a fingerprint scanner and a high-tech camera. Among other things, the smartphone is ideally protected from external irritants such as dust and moisture – the predecessor cannot boast of such a feature, what can we say about some competitors. In general, Galaxy smartphones turned out to be quite successful, so they are very popular.
On the back of the gadget, you can see a heart rate sensor that can read readings from your fingertip. The process of counting the pulse takes an average of five seconds. Built into the back of the case is a 16-megapixel camera with super-resolution 4K video recording. An important advantage of the camera is the presence of its hybrid autofocus, taken from the “DSLRs”.
Sales of the gadget will start on April 11.
Simultaneously with the release of the Galaxy S5, the company intends to launch on the world market a unique Gear Fit bracelet equipped with a heart rate sensor, a pedometer and a stopwatch. At the MWC, the Koreans introduced the second-generation Gear smart watch. They run on the Tizen system and are able to work without recharging for up to three days. For comparison, the old Galaxy Gear watch was discharged in a day.
