Before you start painting the ceiling, first of all, you need to carry out preparatory work. They include studying its condition, choosing the type of paint, an approximate calculation of the area to be painted. Upon completion of this stage, it is imperative to protect the floor, as paint and primer will drip from above. And now, you can start painting the ceiling.
It should be noted that paints and varnishes are different. More precisely, they impose certain requirements on the surface to be painted. If this fact is not taken into account, then in the end, at best, the surface will look bad, and at worst, the service life will be short.
Very often, people just repaint the ceilings. In this case, it is necessary to remove traces of old paint and wash the ceiling with clean water. If the old coating is easily removed and dissolves almost instantly in water, then most likely, adhesive solutions are used as the basis for such paint.
The ceiling surface is first wetted with water, and then the old paint is removed with a spatula. If the paint does not dissolve in water, then it is most likely a lime or latex based paint. As a rule, such paints are characterized by poor quality.
The next step foreshadows the use of a primer. For this purpose, special solutions are used. And only after all the above work, you can start painting.
